What We Do
At GEARS Initiative, we are dedicated to advancing and fortifying democracy in Zambia through comprehensive research, strategic advocacy, and dynamic community engagement. Our multifaceted approach ensures that we address the critical challenges facing democratic governance, empower citizens, and foster a transparent, inclusive, and resilient democratic environment.
Advocacy and Policy Influence
We are committed advocates for policies that strengthen democratic principles and practices. Through our targeted advocacy efforts, we engage with government officials, policy-makers, and civil society to promote and support legislative and policy changes that enhance democratic governance. We organize campaigns, prepare policy briefs, and collaborate with stakeholders to influence and shape policies that reflect the needs and rights of all Zambians.
Civic Education and Engagement
Empowering citizens is at the heart of our mission. We believe that a thriving democracy requires informed and engaged citizens. Our civic education programs are designed to increase public awareness about democratic rights, responsibilities, and processes.
